Observe your unconscious habits of mental storytelling, recognize that your moods/emotions are based solely on whatever thoughts you choose to be real. You suffer more from your imagination than the actual circumstances. Always be aware of the mind-made stories that you are consistently telling yourself (that you have identified with or attached to), in each and every moment.
